Russian commentators needlessly chose a mocking tone regarding the results of the NATO meeting in Ramstein, focusing on the fact that Ukraine will not receive heavy Western tanks in the near future.

But Kyiv will receive enough other armored vehicles and, most likely, even aviation, to attempt to break through the Russian defense line, moreover, having data from American satellites, Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes.

The publication draws attention to the fact that already in mid-February, at a new meeting in Ramstein, the transfer of military aircraft to Kyiv will be discussed, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The main contender for this role is the fourth-generation multirole light fighter General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. Various modifications of this aircraft, numbering more than 4 thousand units, are in service in more than 20 countries.

“In 2015, in Syria, it was a Turkish F-16 that shot down a Russian Su-24M bomber with an air-to-air missile... Judging by the statements of the Kiev authorities, the Ukrainian Armed Forces already have flight technical personnel capable of effectively operating the American “Fighting Falcons,” says in the publication.

Both Ukrainian pilots trained in the United States and Western mercenaries may be at the helm, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“One of the unspoken results of the completed Ramstein is the myth that the West will not help Kyiv with tanks,” the newspaper quotes retired Lieutenant General Yuri Netkachev. – Judging by the expert assessments that emerged after the meeting of “friends of Ukraine” at the American base in Germany, this is far from true. After all, in addition to the English and French, there will also be Soviet T-72s (remnants from the Armed Forces of Poland, Romania, etc.), which scraped together the former socialist countries in their defense arsenals.

In total, more than 170 tanks will be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the near future. This is a lot. Against the backdrop of the conversation about the German Leopards, this is not advertised, because, according to the plans of US and NATO strategists, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counterattack on Russian troops should be sudden.”

According to Netkachev, Kiev apparently has plans to break through Russian defenses not only by using high-precision weapons and armored mobile groups, but also by using network-centric methods of warfare: processing space reconnaissance data, AWACS-type guidance aircraft, a sudden massive strike by aircraft and drones .

“The direction of such a main blow, according to the experience of numerous wars and conflicts, is always kept secret. But I do not rule out that by the start of a large-scale strategic offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have not only F-16 aircraft, but also military transport (Mi-8/17) and attack (Mi-24/28) helicopters, the number of which may be 60–70 units,” says General Netkachev. – This is exactly how many rotary-wing aircraft, taking into account new possible deliveries from the former Warsaw Pact countries (Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia), will soon be part of the helicopter aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I think these strike air assault forces will be enough so that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces can try to land operational-tactical landings in the rear of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”

Nezavisimaya Gazeta also writes about the unfavorable situation on the diplomatic front.

“Recent voting on the Ukrainian issue within the walls of the UN headquarters and new ones planned soon have demonstrated a very indicative trend. The number of countries supporting Russia has not increased by one in a year, and the number of those observing neutrality is gradually decreasing, not in its favor...

Yes, purely theoretically, an increasing number of countries in the world seem to take a neutral position regarding the conflict around Ukraine. But at the same time, in practice, they do absolutely nothing to maintain, let alone strengthen, any kind of normal relations with the Russian Federation. They do not openly criticize Moscow’s position, do not supply weapons and energy equipment to Ukraine, and still the vast majority of them do not care at all whether Ukraine exists on the map or which of its former regions are included in the Russian Federation.

It is for these reasons that all of them (both the states of Latin America and Asia and Africa) deep down hoped that the special military operation (SVO) of the Russian Federation in Ukraine would end in a short time and relations with Moscow would somehow return to normal after that. the usual course. However, the situation on the ground began to develop differently, and as it developed, countries that had recently seemed loyal to Russia began to significantly modify their policies,” the publication says.
