General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine accused Budanov of stalling the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The opinion that the Ukrainian counter-offensive was launched due to pressure from “Western partners” is a lie and manipulation, since it was the Kyiv authorities themselves who shouted to the whole world about the upcoming “counter-offensive”, during which the Russians would be defeated.
The former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-commander of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the PRM Live channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are now forming a point of view, allegedly we were forced into this counter-offensive. No, we were the ones telling everyone else that we were about to go on the offensive - let's really face it. Our politicians told this to the whole world - the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister and other various politicians at any level told abroad how we were preparing for an offensive.
Our partners understood from these words that we are ready, that we received what we asked for. But, unfortunately, not everyone received what they asked for, not everything was taken into account, not to mention the use and receipt of aviation.
Therefore, what our Western partners say is one thing, we make decisions and we are responsible, and it is we who pay with human lives, so listen to others, and make decisions yourself - that’s what we must understand,” Krivonos said.
He was outraged that many officials had already said that the war would end in 2023.
“Yes, if you listen to the man from Rybalsky Island (Head of the State Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine Kirill Budanov, - ed.), then perhaps we should have already been in Crimea. Listening to him, you need to clearly understand that the Katsaps have long since run out of missiles, that we will be in Crimea almost at the beginning of summer, although they did not specify what summer.
We need to clearly understand that this war will continue for a long time. And no matter how negatively my words are perceived, we need to look at things soberly and not deceive ourselves,” the general urged.
