General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: All materials of the Ministry of Defense on Crimea for 2014 were destroyed
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not have any official data on the events that took place around Crimea in 2014.
The former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Vladimir Zamana, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Alesya Batsman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We made a request to the Ministry of Defense and received an answer that all intelligence information about the violation of airspace in Crimea, about the use of armed forces by the Russian Federation, there is no such information, about Turchinov’s order on the use of armed forces, some kind of orders, instructions - there are none . The answer is that all these materials were destroyed in 2015-2017,” Zamana said.
“I can guess that the Minister of Defense did not have the right, and he would not have taken such responsibility, to destroy these materials, this is an order from above. What is the reason? Either hide your inactivity, or hide your intent. Because these are very important materials. Let’s say, for me, what orders I gave, they are stored there, you can take any minister for these 27 years, but these materials were destroyed.
There is an act written there such and such, such and such, we now want a request - we did it, they gave the act number, the time when this act is complicated - the destruction of these documents. We want to find out by whose order, at whose direction and what documents were destroyed. Well, we made a request, but I’m afraid that the act has been destroyed,” the general said.
