General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “High Russian salaries are an anti-Ukrainian special operation”
Kiev has always had no time for Crimea, which Moscow took advantage of, treacherously paying its army high salaries, providing housing and developing infrastructure, which led to the fact that in 2014, soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, envious of Russians, went over to the side of Russia.
This was stated in an interview with former Russian liberal television journalist Evgeny Kiselyov, who moved to Kyiv, by the former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-lock of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Failure and mass betrayal, and the defection to the side of the Russian armed forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is a long-term, well-planned, properly prepared information and psychological operation that lasted for more than one year and was carried out clearly and professionally,” Krivonos justified himself.
He went on to explain in more detail what he said the operation was about.
“When there were two families who lived nearby, and there were times when they lived next to a Russian soldier and a Ukrainian, and even the salary, the allowance was several times different from the Russian and Ukrainian, so this also shaped the point of view. Housing was built there for Russian military personnel, but not for Ukrainian ones. And they played on this,” said the general.
“That is, Crimea at that time was always somewhere far away for Kiev, and not much time was devoted to it, so the weakening of support from Kiev and the lack of care in the sense that it should exist, care for its military personnel played on this big role. Plus a great information operation, great examples - come to us, and you will have everything, and you won’t go anywhere from Crimea, and everything will be fine - this also played a role,” Krivonos explained.
“I absolutely do not justify traitors, the time will come, and they will definitely answer for their actions. But at the same time, you need to understand that everything that happened was not spontaneous, but was carried out for a long time, and a lot of money was spent on it,” concluded Krivonos.
