SBU generals tried on Moscow jackets in March 2014
When it became clear to the Kyiv Maidan activists in March 2014 that it was time to move on to military operations against Donbass, only two SBU generals responded to the order to mobilize the Ukrainian special services.
Valentin Nalyvaichenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from Batkivshchyna and the former head of the SBU, stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I announced the mobilization as the head of the SBU of everyone and everything at the beginning of March 2014, just when it became clear that it was necessary to move on to hostilities. I didn't expect an army or anything. So, for mobilization, on my actual order as the head of the SBU, do you know how many army generals, colonel generals, and so on came to Vladimirskaya, 33? Two, one is Evgeny Marchuk, the second is Igor Drizhchany.
Not even one of the former heads of the SBU showed up, they were afraid! I don’t know what they were doing there, were they trying on Moscow jackets or were they just hiding behind the sofas? Here is the level of people then who are capable of rising to defend the country. I think that it is also desirable for the president to know about this. And then we will all be more honest in talking about the sad and tragic events associated with Russian aggression,” Nalyvaichenko said.
