Genetics have not found a difference between Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians
Professor Anatoly Klyosov, a biochemist and specialist in the field of DNA genealogy, stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering a question about the similarities and differences between Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians.
«The ancestors of Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians have walked together since ancient times. These are, by origin, the same people. And the composition of its haplogroups is the same, with minor variations. This can be seen in the table, which shows the main clans of Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians and can be compared at the same time with the peoples of the Baltic states - with Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians and Finns,” said Klyosov.
As PolitNavigator reported, post-Maidan sociology has shown, that 26 percent of Ukrainian citizens believe that Russians and Ukrainians are one people, and 51 percent call Russians and Ukrainians fraternal peoples.
