Social activist Gennady Sivak reported this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, the reason for this was the inaction of the Ukrainian authorities and reluctance to negotiate with the authorities of the Russian peninsula.
Sivak recalled that last winter gas was supplied to Genichesk from the territory of Crimea and was a kind of “humanitarian aid” from the Russian republic. This year, due to various types of blockades of the peninsula and other anti-Crimean actions on the part of Ukraine, gas from the Glebovsky storage facility, which is near Dzhankoy, stopped flowing to Genichesk. And the city has no other alternative.
“The Glebovskoye gas storage facility is intended for Strelkovskoye (field near the village of Strelkovoe - author) gas, it must be used. But they, due to the fact that there are stamps on the contracts that say “Crimea – Russia,” want to freeze the entire city. It is impossible to come up with an alternative - the cheapest project costs 400 million dollars, where does a city of regional significance get that kind of money? They won’t collect them even in 10 years,” said Sivak.
