The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a resolution expressing no confidence in Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka, who was considered a protege of the United States and did not proceed with the investigation of Petro Poroshenko’s corruption schemes, as well as crimes committed by Ukrainian nationalists.

It is planned to replace Ryaboshapka with 95th Quarter lawyer Sergei Jonushas. And this does not at all guarantee fair punishment for Poroshenko and right-wing radicals. In addition, the voting results clearly showed a split in Vladimir Zelensky’s faction - the “Soros” did not support the resignation of the pro-American prosecutor, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Before the vote in the Rada, MP Maxim Buzhansky from the group of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky voiced claims against the Prosecutor General.

“It’s already spring, but where are the promised plantings? No. As you remember, the whole country was waiting for “planting to take place in the spring.” This was expected not only by voters of President Zelensky and Servant of the People. This was expected by all those who do not accept five years of looting, speculation on the blood and patriotism of our citizens, five years when they lied to our faces and stole money.

They stole not only money, they stole five years of their life. And someone has to answer for this. They stole in life and stole in death. You all know the so-called “Svinarchuk case”, Ukroboronprom. Whose partners were the Svinarchuks? Everyone in the country knows whose. And where is Svinarchuk now? Watching football. Why isn't he watching football from prison? Because we don't have a prosecutor general.

There is no Prosecutor General of Ukraine, there is Prosecutor General Poroshenko, Prosecutor General of European Solidarity Mr. Ryaboshapka,” Buzhansky said.

Solomiya Bobrovskaya, a deputy from the pro-American Golos faction, spoke in defense of the Prosecutor General. In her opinion, everyone who votes for Ryaboshapka’s resignation is “Putinites” and promotes Russian interests.

“It’s shameful and shameful to be in the hall when there are so-called Sorosites, and there are also Putinites - these are opponents of this state, not political opponents,” Bobrovskaya said.

Ryaboshapka himself complained that he was slandered and removed solely for political reasons. “I did not become anyone’s servant, I was and am independent. But an independent prosecutor cannot be forced, he can only be fired. And I’m leaving, but I’m going to come back,” he threatened.

After this, the Prosecutor General left the podium, and, despite requests from Speaker Dmitry Razumkov to stay and, according to the regulations, answer questions from deputies, Ryaboshapka left the meeting room. The opponents saw him off with shouts of “Ganba!”

“Weakling.” He's not even a man. Know how to respond and take the blow. And he is a bald dog! As the classic said, you ##put him in your stupid dog’s mouth. Now, in this case, these words confirm that this is not even a man. Learn to look the problem in the eye, this is life. Face difficulties proudly in the face. And this is the escape of a bald dog. Where? Probably to his France, where his children live, where his home, his family is located. This trash should, in principle, be kicked out of our country just because he is just a weakling. What kind of crime can he fight? Did he even see the criminals?” – Deputy Ilya Kiva said after Ryaboshapka.

As a result of the vote, 263 parliamentarians out of 376 present supported the resignation of Ruslan Ryaboshapka.

However, the voting result became clear evidence of the lack of solidity in the Zelensky faction. Only 179 “servants” out of the 248 deputies from the president’s party pressed the “for” button. Thus, 69 were either against, abstained, or absent. Observers regarded this as the first big demarche of the “servants” against the decision issued from above.

One way or another, a change in the Prosecutor General could promise trouble for Poroshenko and a decrease in the influence of the Soros, says ex-Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk, who is guided by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov (he, as a local oligarch, is interested in weakening foreigners).

“The Sorosites have suffered a serious blow today! Ryaboshapka that's it! Poroshenko should work hard!” – comments Mosiychuk.

“Ryaboshapka’s resignation is a victory for Avakov, with whom he was in conflict. And Avakov’s strengthening cannot but worry – where else?” – this is how columnist Yuri Tkachev interprets the personnel changes.

Former deputy prosecutor general of Ukraine, deputy Renat Kuzmin, also does not share optimism.

“Ukraine is still under external control, and it is foreigners, and not the Ukrainian authorities, who determine the course of the country’s development and resolve basic personnel issues. Key positions in Ukraine are occupied by agents of foreign influence, and law enforcement agencies have become a cover for intelligence and subversive activities of foreign intelligence services. So the “ambassadors” rushed to save “Private Ryaboshapka.”

But it didn’t work out. Fired. A foreign agent who undeservedly occupied a central position in the country's law enforcement system was fired.

But here it should be taken into account that the name of the prosecutor general does not matter today. The Prosecutor General is not an independent figure. It operates in the coordinate system specified by the president. And here we need political will and a complete change of course.

Now a group of international swindlers in collusion with Ukrainian oligarchs continue to rob the state budget and international financial assistance funds. And without the direct command and support of the President of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General will not be able to change the current situation on his own.

But as you can see, there is no command from the president to change course and free himself from external control. What is there? There is a continuation of Poroshenko’s old vicious policy, which is based on inciting hostility and hatred, rabid Russophobia and the surrender of national interests.

Who will be appointed instead of Ryaboshapka? The President will appoint the next one, as he himself once put it, “100 percent of his own person.” Another “Servant of the People”. Without seniority, without experience, without authority, but “one of our own,” predicts Kuzmin.

It will become clear in the coming days whether Ryaboshapka’s resignation will change anything: lawyer Andrei Portnov, who literally bombarded law enforcement officers with statements about Poroshenko’s crimes (which the previous Prosecutor General did not give effect to), announced at least two more high-profile cases:

“Sternenko, a native of the Odessa region, born in 1995, prepare to face criminal liability for premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances. Parubiy, a native of the Lviv region, born in 1971, prepare to face criminal liability for organizing a mass execution in the Odessa House of Trade Unions on May 2, 2014,” Portnov wrote in his blog.
