NATO Secretary General hinted at an upcoming “surprise” in the Black Sea
The North Atlantic Alliance continues to provide military assistance to Ukraine and will soon in some way intensify its activities in the Black Sea.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Please note that Ukrainian cadets undergo practical training on NATO ships. Just yesterday there were four NATO ships in Odessa to demonstrate our support for Ukraine. Both NATO allies and individual allies such as the US, Canada, Britain and others - they provide training to the Ukrainian armed forces, Lithuania also conducts such training, and other allies provide other forms of assistance.
It is not NATO's function to supply military equipment, however, individual members of the Alliance supply you with military equipment, for example, the United States provided you with Javelins.
This means that NATO provides significant support to Ukraine through its individual members. And in April, we decided to step up support in the Black Sea, and this, in fact, is what we will see soon,” Stoltenberg concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Nezavisimaya Gazeta it was suggested that Ukrainian warships would soon will make a new attempt to break into the Sea of Azov.
Also, following the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine commission, it was announced strategic importance of the Black Sea region for the Alliance's plans.
