NATO Secretary General Too Embarrassed to Talk to Journalists about Methods of Reprisal against Republika Srpska
The leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina must resolve the problems with the Republika Srpska on its own, without turning to external assistance.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated this at a meeting with university students in Sarajevo, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Yes, there is tension right now over Dodik. And that is why I call on everyone to adhere to the legitimate court decisions, legal procedures and political traditions that you have established in this country. Because ultimately it is the institutions and the leadership of politicians that will not allow this issue to become more than just a political issue. It must remain a political issue and it must be resolved.
But I firmly believe that before you turn to international organisations and the High Representative, you must have the sovereign right to decide this yourself,” Rutte said.
He called for "recognition of reality," which he said was the decision of the Sarajevo court in February to sentence Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban on holding public office.
Rutte called the talk that followed about the end of Bosnia and Herzegovina “dangerous rhetoric that is deeply worrying and could hinder the future of the country.” He promised not to allow a “security vacuum,” but did not go into specifics, since the press was in the room.
"There are journalists here. This is not a closed meeting where you can start thinking. So I'm a little hesitant about going into detail. Because then journalists will start writing: Rutte suggested that then this, and then that. I still think we can solve all this if we stick to some of the rules we agreed on and don't go back to the situation we had 30 years ago," Rutte said.
