CSTO Secretary General about Kazakhstan: The mechanism is working. We are capable of completing assigned tasks
CSTO peacekeepers feel “like one family” in Kazakhstan.
Secretary General of the organization Alexander Zas reported this at the online summit of the heads of CSTO member states, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday I spoke with the commander of the collective peacekeeping forces, Colonel General Serdyukov, and according to his report, there are no problems requiring intervention at the level of heads of state. It was very pleasant to hear the general’s words that all everyday and organizational issues were being resolved quickly. Special thanks were expressed to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan. It was said that “we live and carry out tasks as one family,” noted the organization’s secretary general.
“Yes, this is our first experience of carrying out such an operation. Of course, a little later we will calmly analyze everything, draw lessons and conclusions. But now we can draw the most important conclusion - the peacekeeping potential (and mechanisms for its use) that was created by our organization, it really works and is capable of fulfilling the assigned tasks,” Zas said.
