A report published by the General Staff of Ukraine on the progress of hostilities in the Ilovaisk region, where government troops were surrounded, among other things, accuses the soldiers of the 28th Odessa mechanized brigade of leaving their positions without orders.

According to the text of the report, The first time the soldiers of the 28th brigade left their positions was on August 24: from the base camp near Kuteinikovo they retreated to the Starobeshevo area. Two days later, according to General Staff analysts, they again withdrew without orders - this time, along with soldiers of the 51st mechanized brigade and the 25th airborne brigade. If you believe the analysis, the servicemen of the 28th brigade were among the first to flee - immediately after the 5th territorial defense battalion, which, according to the Ministry of Defense, having withdrawn from its positions, went straight home - to the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In general, the General Staff report is replete with indications that fighters of one or another unit left without orders or, conversely, refused to move to positions. In particular, the 9th and 39th territorial defense battalions, the 51st, 93rd, 19th, 79th brigades, as well as other formations, units and units, were accused of cowardice.
