The General Staff is lying about the successful conscription, no one wants to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Although the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Artur Artemenko announced the successful conduct of the conscription campaign, citizens of Ukraine do not want to join the army. Security expert Sergei Shabovta stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Kyiv, the turnout of conscripts was less than 10%. There were several meetings in the regions (regarding the disruption of the campaign). In Western Ukraine, at the slightest hint of a search for conscripts, people disappear.
In fact, the situation is deplorable; it shows that the armed forces have absolutely no authority among the people. The parents are rather horrified that their son is facing conscription.
Military prosecutor Matios recently announced that one in four military personnel today commits a crime. Statistics – from 24 to 26 thousand crimes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine annually. Such types as hazing, unauthorized abandonment of a unit, and desertion dominate. All this can be with the use of weapons and is aggravated by the use of alcoholic beverages.
But drinking and stuff don't just happen. We know about absolutely terrible conditions at most Ukrainian training grounds. Let’s not turn a blind eye to the quality of equipment used by military personnel, exploding mortars, etc.,” the expert said.
