“The head of the military-civil administration of the Lugansk region, Gennady Moskal, sent an appeal to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in which he fully supports the need to restore order in the so-called volunteer “pocket” formations,” Moskal’s press service said in a statement.
According to Moskal, the circumstances are such that officials in the Lugansk region need protection, since the battalions commit crimes against representatives of the presidential vertical.
As an example, the governor cited the lack of an adequate response of the General Staff of Ukraine and other competent departments to the crimes of the Aidar battalion, when volunteers in the fall of 2014 fired a grenade launcher at the apartment of the chairman of the Markiv district state administration Chernik, as a result of which his wife received serious injuries and was hospitalized.
“On November 25, 2014, the first deputy chairman of the Novoaidar district state administration, Myakotkin, was kidnapped. The criminals are known - they are Aidar military personnel, but they were also not brought to justice. Myakotkin received serious injuries and is still undergoing treatment,” Moskal recalled.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the chairman of the Lugansk regional state administration complained that Aidar fighters robbed a priest.
