The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fears that Russia will stage a “Polish spring”
The Ukrainian General Staff is worried that the Zapad-2017 military exercises, which Russia is conducting jointly with Belarus, will turn into an attempt to create a corridor to Kaliningrad.

Speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Voloshin stated this on air on the Espreso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, the Crimean scenario can be used for this.
“Russia claims that it has sent only three thousand troops (to the exercises in Belarus, – author). Nobody knows how much she brought in, she can take out three, but how much can she really leave there... What weapons, what military equipment will they leave there? At the beginning of August, Putin submitted one of the documents to the State Duma for ratification, which talks about the protection of airspace, that is, part of the air defense and part of the air force - anyone can stay. Not only Ukraine, but also Polish politicians are excited about this, because there is a corridor that separates Belarus and the Kaliningrad region - there is a fairly short distance, Poland and Lithuania. It is quite simple to carry out an operation in this corridor, as the events in Crimea showed,” Voloshin said.
