General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: Russians are not withdrawing troops, this is just a regrouping of forces
This statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The withdrawal of units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation from the territory of the Kyiv and Chernigov regions continues. According to some signs, the enemy is regrouping units to concentrate the main efforts in the eastern direction.
At the same time, the so-called “withdrawal of troops” is probably a rotation of individual units and is intended to mislead the military leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and create a false imagination regarding the occupiers’ abandonment of the plan to encircle the city of Kyiv.
There are no significant changes in the composition and position of enemy troops in the Volyn, Polesie and Seversk directions.
The occupiers are trying to hold previously occupied lines; they are not carrying out active offensive actions in these directions.
In the direction of Slavyansk, the enemy continues to hold their positions in the area of the settlements of Kamenka and Sukhaya Kamenka. Activities continued to provide troops, regroup units and replenish supplies.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues fire and assault operations. He carried out air and missile strikes in the areas of the settlements of Kremennaya and Mariupol. He focused his main efforts on taking control of the populated areas of Popasnaya and Rubezhnoe, as well as the complete capture of Mariupol.
In the Tauride direction, no changes in the composition and position of the enemy were recorded.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy is taking measures to restore the combat effectiveness of its units. With artillery fire and air strikes, he is trying to constrain the actions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy carried out artillery attacks on positions of Defense Forces units near the settlements of Stepnogorsk, Orekhovo, and Gulyaypole.
In the areas of the settlements of Novokarlovka and Lugovskoye, the enemy continues to fortify their occupied positions and install mine-explosive barriers,” says the communiqué of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.
