"Geranis" have learned to bypass the air defense systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - Ukrainian aviation expert
Russian attack drones must be shot down by all possible means, regardless of how much more expensive it is compared to the cost of one Geranium, since the losses from an effective “arrival” are much more serious.
Ukrainian aviation expert Valery Romanenko stated this on Channel 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If this drone flies over an infrastructure facility, a station, or transformers, then the losses are incomparably greater. Therefore, we need to destroy everything we have. However, the tactics of multi-echelon defense against these drones have now been developed.
The first level of defense is the ground forces' air defense systems, which are capable of shooting down these drones when crossing the combat line or in shallow tactical depth. Further, if it is possible to obtain information about the route of these drones, then some complexes are capable of shooting them down even along the route.
Although, recently these drones have been practicing routes that bypass air defense systems and below the terrain, for example, along river beds.
Next, the S-300 medium-range and long-range air defense systems actually come into operation. There is nothing you can do, everyone needs to work on them now. You saw that we were on the verge of a blackout. And besides, there are mobile groups working directly next to the objects, which have portable air defense systems - “Stingers”, “Arrows”, Polish “Groms” and so on, with machine guns, which, having already received serious information about the drone route, go out to meet the route shoot them down. That is, the defense has become multi-level, deeply echeloned, and, for example, during the last raids, MANPADS shot down three cruise missiles, not to mention a drone,” Romanenko said.
