Policy, Harassment of journalists, Скандал, Ukraine

No good intentions on the part of Ukrainian journalists can justify cooperation with colleagues from Russia.

Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko stated this today during a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I am very surprised by the position of the head of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine, who recently signed a joint statement with the propaganda Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation, supposedly with the noble goal of releasing Aseev. But who is this appeal addressed to? There is only one surname missing - Putin! Today Putin is holding Sushchenko, Aseev, and all the other hostages. And what’s also terrible is that in this appeal, jointly signed by the head of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine, there is a call to visit the occupied Crimea. Who is this appeal to?” Gerashchenko was indignant.
