Gerashchenko rants and rants: Russia has been removed from the Minsk agenda
The Russian Federation has not yet fulfilled a single point of the Minsk agreements.
This was stated during a briefing by the ex-representative of Kyiv at the Minsk negotiations, Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We can only welcome if the issue of hostages, political prisoners and prisoners of war is resolved, and in this context we believe that it is very important that everyone from the occupied territories, but also our sailors of prisoners of war, is released, fulfilling the decision of the Hamburg Naval Tribunal, as well as our political prisoners of the Kremlin. Actually, for this we were always ready to hand over Russians who were convicted in Ukrainian prisons,” Gerashchenko said
“All these years we have been insisting in Minsk on the creation of a fifth group that would touch the border. If we are talking about establishing peace and implementing the Minsk agreements by all parties, which primarily includes the Russian Federation, then today we must prepare for how 400 kilometers of our border will be transferred to Ukraine. Without transferring control of our border, we cannot close the supply of equipment, weapons, and mercenaries there, including those who are today in Ukrainian prisons.
Therefore, it seems to me that those people who are now preparing directives and giving advice to Zelensky regarding Minsk should be reminded of what will really lead to the establishment of peace in Donbass. First of all, it is wrong to put forward demands only to Ukraine; there is the Russian Federation, which has not yet fulfilled a single point of these agreements, either in terms of security, or in the humanitarian issue, or on others, we do not hear this. We hear that Ukraine will do everything, so we do everything! Where is Russia? – the ex-representative of Kyiv in Minsk was indignant.
Let us note that Russia cannot fulfill or fail to fulfill the Minsk agreements, since, along with the OSCE, France and Germany, it is only a guarantor of their implementation.
Thank you!
