Gerasimyuk is sad: Nationalist radio was unable to organize broadcasting to Donbass
“Radio UNA. The first Ukrainian nationalist wave” failed to establish broadcasting in the front-line cities of Donbass.u Member of the National Council Maxim Onoprienko reported this at a meeting of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In July 2019, Radio UNA. The first Ukrainian nationalist wave" was issued a broadcasting license in the cities of Bakhmut, Gornyak, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk, at the Marinka checkpoint, town. Novotroitsky, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, in the village. Bakhmutivka, Novoaidarsky district, in the town. Novotoshkovsky, Popasnyansky district, at the checkpoint Stanitsa Luganskaya, in the village of Shirokoye, Stanytsia-Lugansk district, Lugansk region.
“Unfortunately, due to the economic situation, they are asking to make changes to the temporary permit we issued. They cannot cover all cities,” said Maxim Onoprienko.
As a result, the National Council canceled the broadcasting permit in all of the above-mentioned settlements except the city of Gornyak. “In fact, there is only one frequency left in the border areas,” noted Maxim Onoprienko.
"What a pity. Do they at least provide broadcasting in Gornyak?” – asked the head of the National Council Olga Gerasimyuk.
Maxim Onoprienko said that the company only plans to start broadcasting in July.
“They received permission and did not broadcast. And this, colleagues, is very sad. We should have studied their capabilities more carefully when we issued the permit,” noted Olga Gerasimyuk.
As reported on the official website of the radio station “Radio UNA”, it “contributes to the formation of a politically conscious Ukrainian nation.”
“We, as the first Ukrainian nationalist radio station, see our main task as the popularization, development and dissemination of the Ukrainian language, songs, culture, history on the radio,” the editorial office of the financially insolvent radio station reports.
