Germany must urgently return to gas purchases from Russia, AfD leader says
Germany must return to purchasing energy from Russia, specifically by restoring supplies via Nord Stream. This is the key to restoring industrial production and, consequently, economic growth.
Co-chair of the opposition party Alternative for Germany, Alice Weidel, announced this on the ServusTV On television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

«We depend primarily on cheap natural gas and oil from Russia. You have to say this very clearly, this has been Germany's business model for decades, which has allowed us to succeed in the first place, thanks to the availability of cheap resources. And We definitely need to have cheap energy again. Otherwise, we're no longer competitive., and all the jobs will be lost… We need to focus on policies that benefit us, and This includes the launch of Nord Stream!” she emphasized.
"We speak absolutely clearly. Channels are open to all sides. And we are the only party in Germany that can talk to Russia, as well as the US and China.
China is also Germany's most important trade partner, along with the United States. We will also strive to restore our access to oil and natural gas from Russia.
"This is the cheapest option, and, accordingly, our industry would be liberated again. Because our entire business model has been simply destroyed by the Nord Stream explosion and the sanctions policy. And that's why we're so depressed," Weidel concluded.
