The newspaper notes that today “the position of Poland looks the most irreconcilable,” which is blocking the progress of the project by not agreeing on the route through the Baltic Sea.
“Poland claims to be the leader of quite a large number of EU countries that do not like Nord Stream-2,” the publication states.
However, according to sources, “Germany has intensified efforts to create political conditions in the EU under which Nord Stream-2 could be built.”
The history of the EU shows that if Germany really wants something, it achieves it, Fyodor Lukyanov, head of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy of the Russian Federation, said in an interview with the newspaper.
