“Germany has disgraced itself. Europeans will travel to Russia for Sputnik
Even the most developed European countries cannot do without the Russian anti-Covid vaccine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that German political scientist Alexander Rahr writes about this in his Telegram channel.
“The distribution of Sputnik V in European countries will depend on whether they can quickly begin production of this vaccine in Europe, because it is possible to bring it from Russia, but it will take some time, because red tape will begin at the borders. It needs to be produced here – in Italy, Germany, Eastern Europe. Then it will spread quickly, and in the summer they will already be talking about success. And Russian researchers, doctors, scientists who invented Sputnik V will receive a Nobel Prize for this,” Rahr believes.
He notes that the German government in recent months has “simply disgraced itself in organizing the vaccine and in the fight against the pandemic,” although it “passed the first wave with minimal losses.”
“Everything changed in the fall of this year and especially in the winter. Many Germans suffered. There are many different reasons for this. In many ways, the approaches of the German government are also wrong. But, firstly, everyone was actually promised vaccination. Back in January, most older people wanted to get vaccinated. It didn't work out. Then it turned out that it was impossible to organize mass vaccination even at the local level. We were waiting for the vaccine. She didn't come because she wasn't there.
Then there were scandals around masks. At first they said that there was no need to wear them, then, on the contrary, they began to force them to wear them. Then it turned out that there were not enough of them. Now there are many of them, but corruption in the highest circles of German political parties, especially the ruling Christian Democratic Party, was also involved in their production and purchase,” writes the political scientist.
He predicts that Europeans will travel to Russia for Sputnik.
“To do this, we need to liberalize the visa regime for some time, as during the World Cup in 2018. In this case, people will be able to take a test, come to Russia, get a vaccine and go back. And everyone will be told how successful it all is and how Russia is actually saving their lives. I think it’s worth thinking about,” concludes Rahr.
