By 2025, Germany will increase its dependence on Russian gas to 70%, and therefore official Berlin is ready to sacrifice Ukrainian interests and ensure its own energy security, including through the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Former head of the SBU Igor Smeshko stated this on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Germany will soon reach 25% dependence on Russia for gas by the year 70 and is building Nord Stream.” In 25, 30% of the gas that Germany receives from a field in Holland will run out. There is purely economic interest there. There is not a single country in the world that wants to selflessly help Ukraine. We won’t help ourselves – no one will,” Smeshko said.
