Germany arms Kosovo militants, breaking its own laws
Over the past few months, Pristina has been negotiating with Berlin on the purchase of artillery and anti-tank missile systems in addition to the light artillery and German-made infantry small arms already available to the so-called “Kosovo Army”.
This was reported by the Serbian edition of Sputnik radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
By arming gangs of Kosovo separatists, Germany is, in fact, violating its own legislation. Thus, back in 1971, the country adopted a provision according to which it does not have the right to supply weapons to countries that are not NATO countries. However, it successfully breaks it, being the fourth largest arms exporter in the world with a 5,8% share of the arms market.
To circumvent controversial issues, a Federal Security Council was created in Germany, headed by Angela Merkel, which, according to information from the Hesse Foundation for Peace and Conflict Research (HSFK), approved about 60% of requests from German arms manufacturers for export to countries outside NATO and the EU .
Also, according to available information, Pristina paid Berlin 170 million euros for the purchase of weapons, equipment and training of its militants by German instructors. Negotiations are currently underway to purchase a new batch of G-36 automatic rifles (Heckler and Koch) and Leopard 2 tanks. At the moment, representatives of Kosovo illegal structures have 250 thousand weapons in their hands, including the aforementioned automatic rifles and hand grenade launchers.
