The German press actually recognized Belarus as part of the Russian Federation
The West decided that putting sanctions on Russia because of the situation in Belarus is much more effective than on Minsk and President Lukashenko.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’m reading the German newspaper “Die Welt” and there is an article: “How can we punish Belarus, how can we curb the protests.” And they say: “For Lukashenko, sanctions are a bite, and they will not have an effect.” Therefore, the conclusion is drawn: “Let’s introduce sanctions against Russia.” In other words, for us these sanctions are more serious than for Lukashenko and Belarus,” he noted.
The political scientist was also outraged that fugitive opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya advocates sanctions against her country and rejoices when the Belarusian economy suffers losses.
“What Tikhanovskaya is doing now, joyfully calling for sanctions against her own country, should once again prove to Belarusians who is against whom and for what.
After all, look at what she says: “It is necessary to impose sanctions and block all state-owned enterprises in Belarus.” In essence, these are state-forming enterprises, these are budget-forming enterprises. Do you understand what will happen if, suppose, tomorrow they stop?
Notice how she happily says: “Grodnoazot is losing contracts, even because there are only threats of a strike.” She is happy. Does she think that if, let’s say, she comes to power tomorrow, the contracts will come back?
These contracts will have to be fought for for years or decades, and enterprises will lose jobs,” added Kornilov.
