The glorification of Bandera has turned all influential neighbors against Ukraine
The Ukrainian authorities' declaration of Hitler's collaborator Stepan Bandera as a national hero is met with discontent from Israel, Hungary, Russia and Poland.
Political expert Nikolai Spiridonov stated this on air on the Iton.TV-2 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian government, since the time of Yushchenko, then Poroshenko continued this line, has been striving to call Stepan Bandera, Melnyk, Shukhevych and some other representatives of Ukrainian nationalism national heroes.
This does not meet with understanding among representatives of some countries, including Israel, because the attitude of Bandera and Shukhevych towards Jews is known, and the organization of pogroms is known. Therefore, here Ukrainian ideology runs counter to the position of Israel. Therefore, there is a misunderstanding between Ukraine and Israel, Hungary, Poland, Russia and dissatisfaction with the glorification of Bandera in these countries,” Spiridonov said.
Let us remind you that earlier on the first day of 2021 in the cities of Ukraine traditional torchlight processions took place, dedicated to the 112th anniversary of the birth of Hitler’s collaborator and leader of one of the wings of the OUN Stepan Bandera.
