After Vladimir Tsemakh, an officer of the DPR air defense forces who was kidnapped by Ukrainian special services, was transferred to Russia as part of today’s prisoner exchange, the case of the crash of a Malaysian Boeing in the Donbass in 2014 is taking a new turn.

The famous military correspondent Semyon Pegov writes about this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“...It is his release that will have far-reaching consequences for international relations - in a broad sense. Tsemakh was kidnapped from the DPR not just for the story of the downed Malaysian Boeing, but specifically for the hearings in The Hague, which are scheduled for early next year. There he was supposed to become almost the main witness - and, according to Kyiv’s plan, to confirm the Western version that the plane was shot down from a Russian Buk.

They kidnapped Tsemakh in advance - it was necessary to carry out a huge amount of work to force and “prepare” the person to publicly admit to something that he did not see and, especially, did not do. The operation to kidnap Tsemakh, by the way, was carried out with the assistance of the British special forces SAS, which specialized in similar tasks in the Middle East and was well versed in the technique.

Ukraine, in fact, gave Russia its main “trump card” in the Boeing hearings. This means the following: 1) Kyiv de facto recognizes that Tsemakh is not in reality an international criminal (otherwise, who would include such a principled figure on the list for exchange) 2) Kiev, in fact, is withdrawing from the information game on Boeing, which is so necessary for the West . This automatically gives rise to a whole series of inter-elite contradictions, both in Ukraine itself and far beyond its borders.

In fact, the extradition of Tsemakh means the failure of attempts to pin the blame for the downed plane over Donbass on Russia. And this is a very important political turn,” summarizes Pegov.

Ukrainian propagandist Yuri Butusov, editor-in-chief of the website “Censor”, who had recently resumed airing Savik Shuster’s talk show, could not hide his resentment at Russia’s success.

“A strong-willed decision was made to issue him instantly, quickly. So, as Putin decided, at any cost. That is, the important circumstances of the case have not been established, all the information that this war criminal has has not been established. We are hastily, quickly meeting the demands that Putin sets,” Butusov laments.

He recalled that after the Boeing crash, Ukraine received “a sanctions mechanism in order to gain political advantages - to put pressure on Russia on the issue of a peaceful settlement.”

“And in this situation we ourselves are weakening our positions and reducing the political significance of this process and the trial of Putin in Holland! This is a very dangerous and alarming trend,” Butusov said.
