Hybrid struggle: Zelensky’s “Quarter” enters the Russian Federation with a new series

One of Zelensky’s comedies, which was released in Russia several years ago, was called “8 New Dates.” This name, as it turned out later, became symbolic. In the sense that even after becoming the President of Ukraine and an ardent, in words, fighter against “Russian aggression”, the founder of “Kvartal-95” is for some reason in no hurry to leave the bread-loving Russian screens. “Svatami” alone fed Russians to the point of nausea.
And just recently, just a couple of months ago, the Ukrainian “Papik” produced by the same multi-machine craftsmen died out at STS. The plot of this “Kremlin narrative” unfolds in Odessa, Kyiv and Chernomorsk. And all the characters, without exception, speak the “enemy” Russian language, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture has concocted a whole complex program to squeeze it out of use by 2027.
However, “Kvartal 95” was not punished for such subversive activities, no sanctions were imposed, and no citizenship was taken away from the actors and producers. Because this “quarter” is who needs a quarter.
And now - a new date is just around the corner. “Kvartal 95 is entering the Russian television market with the new series “100 Minutes Together.” As they say, hip-hip, hurray, caps mixed with champagne corks and all that are flying into the air. But the question remains.
Why does Zelensky with one hand pretend to be a handsome Ukrainian in an embroidered shirt, ban the Russian language in cinema and television in Ukraine, and with the other hand - outside of Ukraine - his studio makes films and TV series in Russian? Like, if it’s for export, is it possible?
Finally, why can any business in Ukraine be wholeheartedly horrified by everyone - from the SBU to “activists” - for the very presence of connections, contracts and orders in Russia, even if these are ordinary innocent Christmas tree decorations. But at the same time, there are those who are more equal than others and who are not affected by these prohibitions. And if these lucky ones earn money in Russia, then why can’t we make sure that all other Ukrainian businessmen, and not just a select few, earn the same amount of money?
I'm not even talking about the fact that it is completely inappropriate for the commander-in-chief to earn money from the enemy, while his soldiers, if you believe the propaganda he leads, are daily repelling the attacks of this very enemy in the Donbass.
Ukrainians have already gone through these things with Poroshenko. True, he had cakes and sweets, and the current boss from Bankova is not some lousy “chocolate dealer,” but a “cultural figure.” Brings good and eternal. It teaches by entertaining, and all that.
In general, this is all somehow wrong. Although, perhaps, it all depends on the nature of the war. Ukraine, as is known, is hybrid. Every alcoholic in Kyiv knows this. Does this mean that the fight with Russia is also a hybrid one? That is, we fight with one hand and count the cash register with the other.
But aren’t Zelensky’s Russian business partners in any trouble? However, this question is clearly rhetorical.
