This is reported by the famous blogger Sergei Anashkevich, who crossed the border tonight.
“At 5.30 in the morning, I saw with my own eyes a line of trucks that was, mind you, 18,5 kilometers long. 18,5 kilometers of trucks waiting to enter Russia!!! With an average truck length of 17-18 meters, this is at least 925 vehicles. This is if we assume that each truck occupies 20 meters of the road. But in fact, they stand close to each other at a distance of no more than 1 meter, and often in two rows. So at least 1000 trucks were frozen in this gigantic hellish queue,” Anashkevich wrote in his LiveJournal.
With reference to truck drivers, he reports that the delay is due to the fact that the Russian side unexpectedly introduced a new form of control at the border.
