Herald Tymoshenko: Ukrainians will be disappointed in Zelensky before the parliamentary elections
Political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk, who serves Yulia Tymoshenko's headquarters, revealed today at a press conference in Kyiv why his boss so easily accepted defeat in the first round of the presidential election.
Korneychuk said that Zelensky, if he wins the presidential election, will very quickly disappoint his voters - it is obvious that this is what Yulia Tymoshenko is banking on, hoping to strengthen her position by bringing an impressive faction into the Verkhovna Rada, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The majority of people who voted for Zelensky and had some mythical hopes about him will very quickly be disappointed, and a spillover will begin during the parliamentary elections.
They will begin to return to those candidates who gave specific programs, but did not make it to the second round for one reason or another due to fraud.
Zelensky, imagine, he comes to the presidential post, and he has nothing. He does not have the opportunity to change the security forces, because he did not control them. He doesn't even have a faction in parliament.
Now he will come, but he has no resources and, most importantly, no desire, because we understand that Zelensky comes under a large number of obligations from all sides. How Poroshenko came in 2014.
We don’t believe that people just become presidents without having a lot of obligations to everyone.
Therefore, during these six months, which will be before the parliamentary elections, we will see total disappointment in Zelensky. This will be a period of great hopes, and then a strong fall, because a politician like Zelensky could shoot once and solely on the protest sentiments of the people. When it comes to specifics, he won’t be able to do anything,” Korneychuk said.
