City Council deputy Stepan Kiskin stated this in his blog.
According to him, the issue of bonuses for the mayor was considered at a meeting of the city council’s standing committee on issues of deputy activity and the organization of local self-government.
“The meeting of the permanent committee was attended by your humble servant (deputy Stepan Kiskin from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and two United Russia members - Valery Ilyichev and Vladimir Yablonovsky. Naturally, two deputies from the party in power voted for a bonus to the head of the administration of Simferopol Gennady Bakharev in the amount of 50% of the salary. I voted against it,” Kiskin said.
He also emphasized that such issues should be considered not behind the scenes, but by the full composition of the city council’s deputy corps and recalled that in light of the latest scandals with the reconstruction of the city center, Bakharev is not worthy of a prize:
“Gennady Bakharev did not deserve even the minimum bonus, since he actually fails to cope with his responsibilities. After the ugly “reconstruction” of the city center was carried out in front of the general public, he should voluntarily resign without waiting for the popular indignation that grows day by day.”
