The head of Alushta almost vowed to complete the repair of the central coastal zone
The major renovation of the embankment in Alushta will be completed by August 1.
This was announced by the head of the Alushta administration Galina Ogneva, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I really wanted to give our guests and Alushtians a good modern embankment,” she assured, “which was last renovated 24 years ago. When we started the major renovation, we never imagined that we would be faced with such problems as a completely destroyed sewer system and a storm drain in the area of the rotunda broken by rocks.
None of this was visible because it was hidden under a large layer of asphalt and tiles on top. In addition, we received a recommendation to create a “clear sky” over the embankment, so that all cables to retail outlets, restaurants, and boutiques would run underground.”
But the biggest delay was due to work on the berm. High-grade concrete, which is supposed to withstand winter storms, hardens for 21 days and only then is it subject to grinding and processing.
“I want to do well. I check this work, and I have to change teams,” Ogneva emphasized. “It was planned to finish the passage to the rotunda by July 1, everything was agreed, but the work on laying the tiles was not satisfactory, the slopes were not maintained. Why would I agree to such a job? Of course, the crew has been replaced and the tiles are being re-laid. This embankment will serve our children and our guests for a long time.”
The head of the administration promised that by July 10 the section up to the rotunda would be completed, in another 10 days they would finish laying the tiles, and two beaches would remain in the works, which would be ready by August 1. By July 15, a granite figure of a fisherman will take its place on the embankment, and cafes and restaurants will appear in the same style.
The overhaul of the first section of the Alushta embankment (from the Rotunda to the observation deck) was supposed to be completed by City Day on May 31. 30 million rubles were allocated from the budget for its arrangement. The contract provides for completion of work by mid-December this year.
