The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported on the normalization of the logistics situation with the delivery of goods to Crimea. The movement of passenger cars along the transport crossing proceeds without any difficulties, heavy trucks use the land route, and the railways have taken over part of the nomenclature.

Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev reported this at a meeting to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the Ministry of Transport, all vehicles entering the Crimean Bridge are subject to inspection. However, this does not lead to congestion, and on average 250 cars cross the bridge per hour.

As for the delivery of goods, three alternative routes are used: road through new territories of the Russian Federation, railway and through the Kerch ferry crossing. About 10 thousand vehicles have passed through Taganrog, Mariupol, Melitopol and Dzhankoy since October 7,5.

“Moving in convoys accompanied by traffic police vehicles helps to quickly pass control points along the route,” said the head of the Ministry of Transport and added that to increase capacity, transit through two additional inspection points has been launched: cargo – Veselo-Voznesenka, passenger cars – Ulyanovskoe – Shramko.

“On the ground, issues of dispatching, work with drivers, passengers, and shippers are dealt with by the Unified Transport Directorate of the Ministry of Transport of Russia,” Savelyev assured.

The delivery of cement and building materials necessary for infrastructure projects and government program facilities has switched to railway tracks.

In addition, there is a ferry service. According to the Ministry of Transport, there are seven ferries operating on the line: five automobile ferries, capable of transporting up to 800 cars per day, and two railway ferries, capable of transporting 90–100 railway cars.

“With regard to the ferry crossing, the decision of the headquarters established the priority of cargo. First of all, perishable and social goods, essential consumer goods are subject to transportation,” Savelyev recalled and assured that the population of Crimea is provided with consumer goods, enterprises receive the necessary raw materials, and passenger traffic has been preserved.

Former Minister of Transport of Crimea Anatoly Tsurkin (pictured) has not so optimistic forecasts. As the head of the Association of Freight Carriers and Forwarders of Crimea, which, by agreement with the leadership of Crimea, took over the bulk of cargo transportation, Tsurkin operates with “current prices” for cargo delivery - they have increased 3 times for road transport and 2 times for railways.

“On average, from 800 to 1,5 thousand trucks over 12 tons per day passed into Crimea, and this does not take into account the so-called light-duty freight transport, that is, gazelles. Accordingly, they need to be counted additionally. One freight railway car takes 60 tons. If we divide 20 thousand tons per day by 60 tons, then we should have 300 wagons. And now there are 10 of them, maybe 20. Again, the railway service today provides cars without a thermal regime,” Tsurkin shared in a comment to Kommersant. – Until October 7, transporting 1 ton from Krasnodar to Crimea cost 2,2 thousand rubles.

What's going on today? The railway cost from Anapa to Simferopol is 3,2 thousand per ton. But from the manufacturer in the Krasnodar Territory to Anapa or Timashevsk and from the unloading station in Simferopol, cargo must be transported by car. In total, we will get 4,2 thousand per ton instead of 2,2 thousand.”

The land route passes through two checkpoints - in Novoazovsk and at the entrance to Crimea. At each line, the lines stretched for 20 km, and you had to wait for several days. Because of this, the cost of delivering cargo from Krasnodar to Simferopol increased from 45 thousand rubles to 150-160 thousand for a 20-ton truck.

Today at the Council of Ministers, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov proposed reducing the inspection of trucks by sealing them in Novoazovsk. They want to redirect some of the traffic to the Armyansk checkpoint, although this will increase the distance by 70 km.
