Miroslav Dodik, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, responsible for the Serbian part of the country, sharply criticized the policies of the self-proclaimed authorities of the illegally seized region of Kosovo from Serbia, and also condemned attempts to recognize Kosovo as a full member of the UN with the support of the West.

Dodik condemned the demand of the Albanian separatists for Belgrade to begin demarcation, blackmailing them with a refusal to cancel the 100% tax imposed on goods from Serbia, which put the Serbian enclaves in Kosovo in a condition of blockade.

Dodik said that peace in the Balkans is impossible as long as there is a problem of borders and “theft of territory.”

"We (Balkans, - ed.) - an experiment in which nations were prevented from building their own countries and then trying to work together and build friendly relations. We remained in sharp conflict with each other on many issues. As long as there is a problem with the border and stolen territory, you cannot ensure lasting peace,” Dodik said in an interview with Evening News.

He emphasized that the Republika Srpska (part of Bosnia and Herzegovina) supports official Belgrade.

A particularly important point in the speech of the chairman of the presidium was the recognition that the Republika Srpska would declare independence if Kosovo received a seat in the UN.

“We have already separated, but it has not been announced. BiH is a completely divided society. The state does not work, there are fantasies that this is so. The Dayton Agreement "created" this country, and now we must try to develop a common policy. But it doesn’t work,” Dodik said.

According to him, there is no doubt that geopolitical conditions will create a moment in which the reunification of Serbia and Republika Srpska will become possible.

“It would be most stable if the Serbs united into one promising state, Serbia. We have never attacked anyone in history and we will not even now. This space belongs to us. How can anyone from Sarajevo say that Banja Luka belongs to them? This is not theirs, but ours, Serbian. We feel that we belong to Serbia. 99 percent of Serbs believe that this is Serbia,” Dodik said.

He also supported President Aleksandar Vucic, condemning opposition street protests in Belgrade. Dodik emphasized that the main interest of the West is to have unstable states in the region for the possibility of intervention.

“Nobody wants strong leaders in the region. Once someone gets established, they destabilize them because they are worried. Serbia is currently dealing with the Kosovo issue and needs a strong negotiating position, but if you have instability within you, you are not strong enough. Those who walk the streets are not even aware of the use and abuse in this regard. If the state were not democratic, the government (in Serbia) would take the police and the army and suppress the protests,” Dodik said.
