The head of the DPR promises help from Donbass to Russian regions
Possessing enormous economic potential and populated by hardworking people, Donbass will support other regions of Russia in the future.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this during an interview with the Sputnik channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have always perceived ourselves, Donbass, in no way as a dependent region that lives at the expense of someone. We thank you for the humanitarian assistance - of course we are grateful. But we are ashamed of it. We are used to working. We didn't refuse to work. We want to work. Donbass is mines, metallurgy, with all that it entails. We are ready to work – they just won’t let us,” said Pushilin.
He emphasized that Donbass, with its enormous economic potential, aims to begin helping other regions of Russia.
“And of course, we are glad that we can say that we will not need humanitarian assistance. We are ready to earn money, we are ready to help those regions that need help. This is what we are aiming for. We understand that this is the only way a large country can survive. All regions cannot be self-sufficient or become profitable on an ongoing basis. There are different conditions and external factors. And mutual support allows a large country to exist,” the head of the DPR concluded.
