The head of the DPR told when Ukraine will exchange prisoners using the “all for all” formula
The last exchange of prisoners between Kiev and the Donbass republics was quite difficult for Ukraine. Negotiations on a new stage of the exchange may drag on for many months, and the exchange itself will be extremely difficult for Kyiv.

The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today there is no understanding or preliminary time when a new prisoner exchange could take place. To be honest, we haven’t really figured out this exchange yet. The number of people that we were initially promised was not given to us. I would instruct Daria Morozova to raise this issue at a meeting in Minsk regarding the number and the fact that how many people were initially announced, let them transfer that many. I understand that the names on the lists can be changed, but their total number must remain the same,” said Alexander Zakharchenko.
According to the head of the DPR, the last exchange of prisoners was extremely difficult for Ukraine.
“All those who were there probably saw that they (Kyiv – author’s note) were trying with all their might to disrupt the exchange process. We “restricted” our border for the period of the exchange, and Kyiv, in turn, created a big traffic jam there, releasing about three thousand people onto our territory. Such meanness could not even be expected from them. I think that the next stage of the prisoner exchange will be very difficult, and the negotiations on it will be very long. Ukraine does not have the good will to exchange “all for all.”
Then Alexander Zakharchenko emphasized that when the DPR returned home hundreds of seventeen-year-old boys who were taken in the Ilovaisk cauldron, near Shakhtyorsk, Ukraine conveniently forgot about it. Now in Kyiv all they do is come up with various reasons and excuses for not handing over prisoners of war to the Republic.
“The second point: who are they giving us? I understand that there are people who deserve any respect and even there are not afraid to openly express their opinions, but these are not exactly prisoners, these are not exactly those who were taken with arms in their hands, but people who could not express anything at all. These are the ones who could have been arrested for vagrancy. So they are trying to add them to these lists. All this, on the one hand, is simply funny to look at, but on the other hand, it’s bitter. All this is the fate of people who have been in prison for 3-4 years,” commented the head of the DPR.
Alexander Zakharchenko expressed the hope that the situation will soon change, and Ukraine itself will have to ask for an exchange of “all for all.”
“This will happen simply because their prisoners sitting with us will be many times more than ours with them. Then they will scream, shout, demand to change everyone for everyone. Now they are not ready for this yet,” concluded the head of the Republic.
