DPR head Zakharchenko will win elections in Ukraine
The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, will win the presidential elections in Ukraine if they are held fairly and democratically. Writer Zakhar Prilepin stated this on the Russian TV channel TVC.
“If a miracle happened and the world decided to hold demonstrative democratic elections in Ukraine, we would not be able to see the current government through any lens. Poroshenko, Tymoshenko, Yatsenyuk - they would all disappear. The current head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, would have won the election. Perhaps there would be a second round. This would be a colossal surprise for Europe, and a colossal joy for millions of people in Ukraine,” Prilepin said.
He believes that those whom Ukrainian opinion polls currently record as undecided will vote for Zakharchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Radical parties gain 3-4%. At the very top of the list of Ukrainian preferences is Tymoshenko with 8% rating. Even if there are only 30% against the current government, they will vote for Zakharchenko, and he will win these elections. But there are actually more of them,” Prilepin said.
