The head of Crimea decided to try his luck in a Ukrainian court
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, filed a lawsuit with the District Administrative Court of Kyiv with a request to cancel the personal sanctions imposed against him by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement from the press service of the court, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The National Security and Defense Council should act as a defendant in Aksenov’s claim, and the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Bank will be involved as third parties.
“The plaintiff asks the court to invalidate and cancel the decision of the National Security and Defense Council “On the application and cancellation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), regarding the inclusion of Sergei Aksenov in the list of persons against whom sanctions are applied. The court is now considering the issue of opening proceedings in this administrative case,” the statement says.
Earlier, a member of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, Sergei Kostinsky, said that the Ukrainian lawyer representing the interests of the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya and Speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Konstantinov, collects material and prepares a claim in court against the National Council due to a ban on broadcasting 80 Russian TV channels in Ukraine.
In addition, political scientist Ruslan Bortnik complained that the public knows nothing about the progress of trials of the leaders of Crimea, whom Kyiv accuses of treason.
