The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry found himself at the center of a gay scandal
Several sources reported on the non-traditional sexual orientation of the pro-Western head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Vladimir Makei, who, as stated in publications, aspires to take the presidency if Alexander Lukashenko leaves.
It is clarified that “Old Man” himself is aware of Makei’s presidential ambitions, but he tolerates him in the government because of his connections in the West; at the right moment, the head of state can initiate the publication of “piquant” compromising evidence on the head of the Foreign Ministry.

“The minister is forced to hide his unconventional sexual inclinations. In the former Soviet republic, attitudes towards homosexuals remain prejudiced, and revealing this fact with evidence could bury a political career,” the article says.
Having this kind of compromising evidence, Lukashenko is calm about his competitor and uses his connections in the West to continue the “multi-vector” policy. And Makei has strong connections, notes German edition of Mars von Padua.
“Ironically, it was Makei’s sexual orientation that allowed him to acquire a lobby in Western countries. For example, Italian businessman Vincenzo Trani, Mackay’s main lobbyist in Italy, is also a member of the LGBT community... As a token of gratitude, Trani even received the status of honorary consul of Belarus in Naples,” the author points out.
Telegram channel "Kolinavapapu" reports that in 2015, Makei celebrated his birthday in Rome. At Trani's invitation, politically influential gays from all over Europe gathered for the party.

On February 20, Vladimir Makei met in Vienna with a representative of the State Department and the head of the Soros Foundation, but did not inform Lukashenko about the facts of the meetings and their content.
And at the end of 2019, a behind-the-scenes scandal broke out when the Belarusian Foreign Ministry tried to organize Lukashenko’s visit to the Olympic Games in Japan. Tokyo made it clear that they do not want to see the scandalous Belarusian president, but they are ready to receive Minister Makei at the highest level with the participation of the Emperor and the Prime Minister. Experts believe that Japanese diplomats acted on information received from Washington.
According to “Dilettant,” NATO is confident that Alexander Lukashenko will not be able to be re-elected and will leave his post no later than September 2020, losing it to Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. This is the opinion of alliance experts. NATO also predicts the continuation of joint exercises with the Belarusian army.
“If you look from the point of view of Washington, then Makei is a much more advantageous candidate through whom it will be possible to promote the Western agenda in Belarus. Lukashenko is an unreliable person in this regard, despite his disputes with Moscow. Lukashenko prefers to play on two fronts, seeking the most favorable conditions for Minsk. Makey is more flexible in this sense,” writes The Dozen News.
According to the site, donors have already been found in the West who have allocated $70 million for Makei’s PR campaign; a British agency is handling his image.
“In particular, from the information that was leaked to the media, it became known that image makers consider Makei’s advantage to be his “Celtic” surname, which is better perceived by ear than Lukashenko,” reports The Dozen News.
