According to her, the restrictions affected all residents of the republic - holders of Russian passports.
“Today, not only men with Russian passports are not allowed through, but also small children, women and the elderly, which, given the interaction that we have traditionally developed with Ukraine, is unacceptable in modern conditions,” Shtanski said, as quoted by the press. service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria.
She noted that previously Pridnestrovians with Russian citizenship faced the problem of leaving through the Republic of Moldova and were subject to fines and sanctions.
“This issue has been the subject of negotiations for many years, and we have finally resolved this problem. Who would have thought that Pridnestrovians would not be able to travel through Ukraine?” - she said.
The minister also said that Ukrainian events negatively affect the economy and social sphere of Pridnestrovie.
“Ukraine is the only transport corridor for Pridnestrovian products exported to Russia and the CIS countries. The existing difficulties in this country directly affect the republic’s budget revenues, in particular, the flow of goods on the PMR-Ukraine border has already decreased by 40%. In general, the decrease in the value indicators of foreign economic activity of Pridnestrovian enterprises is already 60% at the end of the first half of the year,” Shtanski noted.
