The Russian Foreign Minister reported bad news for Zelensky and Johnson
No new agreement like the Minsk Agreements will be concluded with Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this in an interview with the Belarus-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the forms in which they have been trying to negotiate with us for the last 8 years... This applies to both the Maidan and the Minsk agreements. Why go far? At the end of March in Istanbul they proposed negotiations. We immediately agreed. At several meetings, Ukrainians simply served their numbers: they sat in caps at the table, demonstrating their moral values and the cultural heritage of their ancestors.
And then in Istanbul they put the paper on the table that we took as a basis. We handed over the draft agreement to them on April 15. But immediately after Istanbul, we know this for sure, the Americans and the British tutted at them, because it is the Anglo-Saxons who now rule in Kyiv. A day later, a terrible provocation took place in Bucha,” the minister emphasized.
According to him, since April 15, Ukraine has not reached the negotiating level.
“Zelensky then declares that he is ready for negotiations and there will be peace, then that in order to start negotiations, Russia must go to the line on February 24. Boris Johnson agrees with him, with whom they look quite organically together.
At the meeting in Istanbul, they discussed the need for Ukraine to be a neutral, nuclear-free, non-aligned country while providing it with security guarantees that will not apply to Crimea and Donbass. We were ready to discuss this. They broke down the negotiations.
Now, when they deign to approach us with a proposal to continue the political process, which the Europeans are urgently asking them to do, we will look at what the situation is on the ground. In the liberated areas, the majority of the population does not even think about returning to the control of neo-Nazi authorities,” Lavrov said.
