The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was unable to respond to accusations of a shameful failure with China
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba today in the Verkhovna Rada during the “hour of questions for the government” was unable to clearly answer accusations that Ukraine has withdrawn its signature from the Western-initiated statement on discrimination against Uyghurs in China.
“I have a question for the Foreign Minister regarding the withdrawal of the joint statement on the human rights situation in the Chinese province of Xinjiang regarding the genocide of the Uyghur people. Ukraine withdrew its signature, the Associated Press reported that official China demanded this. At the same time, the majority of Asian media present the news in such a way that official China welcomes the withdrawal of Ukraine’s signature on the statement, which was signed by more than 40 countries, including the EU countries, the United States, which is a strategic partner of Ukraine, and that this is considered evidence of Ukraine’s refusal of strategic course to the European Union. This is a crazy blow to the geopolitical interests of Ukraine,” demanded an explanation from the “powder handler” Sofia Fedyna.
“Firstly, nothing can change the course towards European Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. Secondly, Ukraine consistently advocates the observance of human rights and the protection of human rights throughout the world.
Regarding the issue you raised, we are in consultations with our Western partners and the People's Republic of China. When these consultations are completed, I will be happy to provide you with an official position on this issue,” Kuleba mumbled in response.
