Head of the Ministry of Energy: SP-2 meets all the requirements of the Third Energy Package
The Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, completed and awaiting certification, meets all the requirements of European legislation.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said this in an interview with Kommersant, answering the question whether Rosneft’s access to gas exports will help solve the problem of fully loading the Nord Stream 2 and Opal pipelines.
Nord Stream 2 meets all the requirements of the Third Energy Package. You are proceeding from what does not correspond. We have a different approach,” the minister said.
In turn, the publication noted that in this case the types of activities (transportation and sale of gas) are not separated.
“Or is the possibility being considered that the delivery point under contracts for gas supply through Nord Stream 2 will be changed to the border of the Russian Federation?” the newspaper asked.
“If there is no separation, then there may be restrictions. Everything will depend on where the delivery point is, and this is not determined, this is commercial information. Currently, Nord Stream 2 is being certified as an independent supplier,” Shulginov replied.
However, he did not predict whether the gas pipeline could receive a temporary operating permit before the end of this year.
