The head of the Ministry of Industry of the Russian Federation spoke about the results of import substitution
By 2020, the share of the Russian manufacturer in the pharmaceutical market began to exceed 35 percent.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, stated this during a speech at a lecture within the framework of the Federal Educational Marathon “New Horizons,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we take 2010, when the first program for pharmaceutical and medical equipment was launched, the share of the Russian manufacturer in the market was about 14%, while the market was only 600 billion rubles. The market has grown today to over 2 trillion rubles in pharmaceuticals, with the share of Russian manufacturers exceeding 35%. I think this is a good result. I'm ready to move on.
“Energomash”, “Transmash” - these are all figures that are above 50%, the share of oil and gas engineering for the period of 2014 was less than 30%, at the end of last year we exceeded the 51% bar. That is, we are moving clearly according to the goals and plans that were laid down,” the minister said.
Touching on the topic of anti-sanctions measures, he drew attention to the fact that the Russian leadership began to engage in import substitution significantly earlier than 2014.
“But it was announced programmatically and consolidated across the 23 industries that we formed; it really was 2014. I can give an example: agricultural machinery in 2014 - the share of Russian products on the Russian market was less than 20%, and at the end of last year the share of Russian manufacturers on the Russian market was 65%. Is this not completed or not completed yet?
It seems to me that we are clearly acting according to our plans. Moreover, we, of course, can move towards 100% and this probably makes sense given the current circumstances, but it will take some time. But a share of 65% is a significant increase from what we started with,” added Manturov.
