The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia: “If Tesla, whom Croatia wants to appropriate, returned there, he would be killed”
Serbian Interior Minister Alexander Vulin responded to intention Croatia to place the face of Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla on the Croatian eurocent.
Vulin recalled that 92 relatives of the scientist were killed in the Ustashe Independent Croatian State, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Vulin emphasized that the only historical fact is that Tesla was born in the Austrian Empire, which then became the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and that if after April 10, 1941, when the Independent Croatian State was founded, he had come to his native Smiljan, he would have been would have been killed, like his many relatives.
“He would be the 92nd Tesla killed in Smiljan, because 91 of them were killed there,” the minister said, speaking on Pink TV. “Croats now put Tesla’s image on their coins, representing him as Croatian and American, whereas during the last war they tore down his statues because they thought he was a Serb, just as they burned down his home and then rebuilt it.” .
Let us recall that earlier the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic saidWhen his country meets all the conditions for joining the eurozone in 2023, then it, like other members of this monetary union, will be allowed to have national motives on one side of the euro.
For Croatia it will be a checkerboard (checkered field), a map of Croatia, a kuna (Croatian coin), Nikola Tesla and the Glagolitic alphabet. The Prime Minister clarified that the checkerboard will be the background, while the map of Croatia will be on the two-euro coin, the kuna on the one-euro coin, the figure of Nikola Tesla on 50, 20 and 10 euro cents and on the 5,2 and one euro cents - Glagolitic .
Interestingly, Tesla as a symbol was chosen by Croatian users in an online survey, where it beat out many other declared symbols, such as the city of Dubrovnik.
