The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, made a huge fortune during the war in Donbass - his wife’s company sold backpacks to the army at several times higher prices, according to an investigation by the Inter TV channel.

Military backpacks cost from 500 to 1200 UAH, but the Ministry of Defense spent 14,5 million hryvnia at the tender to purchase backpacks for 3000 UAH from the private joint-stock company “Investor” through a “gasket” company.

“Investor” is a Kharkov company that is part of Avakov’s sphere of interests. The controlling stake is owned by the wife of a high-ranking official, the story states.
