The head of the Pentagon announced “decisive weeks” for Ukraine
The coming weeks will be decisive for Ukraine, which is why Western countries continue to pump it with weapons.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated this at a briefing at the American military base Ramstein, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Austin, Ukraine will soon receive from Germany five dozen Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, and Great Britain and Canada have promised to provide air defense systems and armored vehicles.
“The work we have done together makes a huge difference on the battlefield. President Zelensky made this clear when we met on Sunday in Kyiv. Countries around the world have stepped up to meet Ukraine's immediate needs. I would like to especially welcome the decision of our German friends, as Minister [German Defense Minister] Lambrecht announced today that Germany will send about 50 Gepard anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine.
And yesterday the British government announced that it would provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems. Today, Canada announced that it will send eight armored vehicles to Ukraine. This is important progress. We see more every day, and I salute all countries that have risen and are rising to help Ukraine. But we have no time to waste - the coming weeks will clearly be decisive for Ukraine, so we must move at the speed of this war,” Austin said.
