The head of the SBU spoke in favor of banning Samoilova from entering Ukraine at Eurovision 2017
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Gritsak, believes that Ukraine should ban the entry of Russia’s representative at Eurovision 2017, Yulia Samoilova.

He stated this today while talking to reporters in Kyiv.
Gritsak said that no decision has been made yet, but he personally favors a ban.
“My opinion is that the law is the same for everyone! If a person crossed the border of the occupied territory - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - this means that she has committed an administrative offense. This is the basis for closing the entry,” said the chairman of the SBU, noting that such a ban could also be initiated by the State Border Service.
Gritsak also believes that Samoilova’s election as Russia’s representative at Eurovision was a “conscious provocation” on the part of the Russian Federation.
“What operational sources from Russia say is that there were other singers with no worse vocal abilities, but for some reason it was decided to send this particular person to us at Eurovision, who, unfortunately, has certain physical disabilities. This was done in order to create a reason and see our reaction. There will definitely be a reaction from the SBU,” he said.
At the same time, the head of the intelligence service also called on the Eurovision organizers and the Ministry of Culture to respond to this situation.
