The head of the Ukrainian Uniates convinces the Poles that the neo-Banderaites are financed by Putin
Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Svyatoslav Shevchuk acted at a conference in Warsaw, where he again condemned Ukrainian neo-Nazism (as is known, on the eve of his “conciliatory” tour of Poland he called on Ukrainians to heal from “political and state egoism”).
The head of the Ukrainian Uniates tried to assure Polish Catholics that the “extreme nationalists” are financed by the mythical “hand of the Kremlin.” However, he did not specify whether those supported by Putin include those banned in the Russian Federation: C14 (which officially cooperates with the SBU) and Right Sector (which is a division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine). Or, according to Shevchuk, these nationalists are not “extreme”, but “moderate”.
Also, according to the head of the UGCC, Russian propaganda “supports populists” and “provokes hatred in different places in Europe,” including in Poland, France and Greece.
Thus, Shevchuk admits that at the level of civil society in European countries, the ideas of friendship with Russia and leaving the EU are very popular, which is what the “populists” are focusing on.
